Pat’s and the band’s stories about the making of the album!

The “Pat Metheny Unity Group” and includes renown musicians  – guitarist Pat Metheny, woodwind player Chris Potter, longtime collaborator Antonio Sanchez on drums, and Ben Williams on bass, and multi-instrumentalist Giulio Carmassi.  “Pat Metheny Group”, the predecessor of the “Pat Metheny Unity Group”, has won an unprecedented seven consecutive Grammies for seven consecutive albums.

“For 2 ½ hours with no intermission, Metheny gave us his trademark melodies and mind-blowing chord changes and harmonies, while the band wrapped in their own rhythms and melodic rifts that sounded as if they music was coming from many different cultures from around the world. Sanchez was so fluid and precise on the drums, Potter rocked the tenor sax/bass clarinet/flute/soprano sax, and Williams was exceptionally solid on the bass.” – JazzTimes

Metheny himself has said that the word “unity” signifies something mysterious and unknown and signifies something that he as a musician has attempted to achieve all his life. He also has added that “KIN (←→)” is completely different from anything he has ever recorded.

Patrick Bruce “Pat” Metheny – is an American jazz guitarist and composer. Metheny first burst onto the international jazz scene in 1974. He released his first album "Bright Size Life" in 1975.
