"Rigas Ritmi 2013" - 4th day

The 6th of July in Riga was the last day of festival "Rigas Ritmi 2013".

This day was spent with unique workshops, open-air concerts, jazz cruise and main concerts in Congress Center with legendary artists on the stage.

Last workshop of the festival "Rigas Ritmi 2013" was hosted by beatbox champion, young and talented Butterscotch who taught the audience the art of vocal percussion and the basics of beatbox, including its history. Everyone had a chance to try beatboxing. In the end of the workshop there was even a little improvisation organized by attendants and Buttercotch.

Everyone who was visiting the Open leisure park "Egle" could not remain indifferent while listening to Latvian and Danish musicians in project made specially for the festival - Dynamic Groove Society. A pleasant surprise was the new talent from Estonia - bassist Heiko Remmel, giving the audience a considerable dose of "pure art", performing both on contrabass and bass guitar in a jam session together with young jazz vocalist Laura Budreckyte from Lithuania.

This year the festival offered a rich program of musical discoveries. One of these discoveries is Laima Jansone in a concert together with Artis Orubs and Andris Grunte presenting their new album "Zarbugans". Ethnographic jazz tenderness combined with the changing nature of the jazz together with the interesting album title.... In concert everyone could see and hear this unusual "Zarbugans".

The last day of the festival was legendary - a jazz icon Diane Schuur sparkled on the stage of Congress Center. Outstanding musical delight was given to the audience by the New First Lady of Jazz. Everyone had the opportunity to hear and see one of the world's most beautiful vocals combined with virtuoso piano playing.

"Misisipi" jazz cruise experienced its last voyage under the night sky of Riga, giving joy to jazz fans with a cool ride along the river Daugava, and great live music. Festival "Rigas Rirmi 2013" offered the performances of young and talented vocalists Daniel Cacija and Elīna Viļuma together with marvelous music by Riga Jazz Quartet. Also guitarist Ori Dakari together with Latvian jazz singer Evilena Protektore delighted the audience with jazz standarts and original compositions.
