 “Rigas Ritmi 2013” – 3rd day

The 5th of July, the 3rd day of the festival, begun with the workshop of John Medeski, who wooed the attendees with his take on the legendary Summertime and honestly answered any question.

The 2nd workshop was taught by the young guitar genius Andreas Varady, who together with his 11-year-old drummer brother Adrian played some songs and shared his musical experience. In the end, the biggest surprise was the participants, who showed their beat box skills to the artist.

The legendary avangard, jazz and groove band Medeski Martin & Wood graced the festival with their presence on the 3rd day. By starting the concert with a mystical and mysterious sound, MMW expressed themselves with the most versatile selection of instruments - improvisation took center stage. During the second part of the concert, the audience was delighted to whiteness the musician, artist and master of beat box Butterscotch. The artist played the piano, the guitar and added to her performance by mimicking different percussions and the trumpet. At the end of the concert, Butterscotch asked the audience to join her on stage to dance and sing together with her!

Leasure park “Egle” offered the unique sound of K.Trio, followed by the virtuoso Andreas Varady Trio.

The second Misisipi Jazz Cruise left the docks with Frank/Pashkevich Experience and Dominion Man on deck – the first presented their special musical programme and the second filled the night with sunny gospel reggae rhythms.
