This year, Rigas Ritmi Festival celebrates its 15th anniversary with a vast concert programme – including Rigas Ritmi Showcase, where Latvian artists will present their musical material to foreign music experts, journalists and guests of the festival. Rigas Ritmi Festival 2015 takes place from 1st till 5th of July.
 
Rigas Ritmi Festival 2015 Showcase takes place on 2nd and 3rd of July, at 14.00 pm, at the New Auditorium of Riga Congress Center. The programme aims to present the best Latvian jazz, improvisation and world music performers to the world’s jazz scene – producers, journalists and heads of festivals. The programme also includes a panel discussions.
 
2nd of July Showc​ase programme includes new generation guitarist Jānis Ruņģis with his project “The Presence of JR”, together with bassist Reinis Ozoliņš and drummer Rūdolfs Dankfelds. "Riga Jazz Stage 2015" winner Daumants Kalniņš will present his original musical programme “Daumants Kalnins 5tet”, including piano player Kristaps Vanadziņš, guitarist Mārcis Auziņs, bassist Toms Poišs and drummer Rūdolfs Dankfelds. Audiences and showcase experts will have the chance to hear the musical experiments of Latvian folk instrument kokle player Laima Jansone and the musical instrument hang performer Raimonds Tiguls. The 1st day of the concert programme concludes with the nine-man funk/jazz explosion, band “Bunch of Gentlemen”: Viesturs Grapmanis (trumpet), Kristaps Lubovs and Roberts Martinovskis (tenor sax), Krists Kristaps Liepa (trombone), Ēriks Kibermanis (bariton sax), Dāvis Bindemanis (keys), Rihards Goba (guitar), Ivars Dauksts (bass) and Kalvis Sležis (drums).
 
On July 3rd, audiences and experts will have the chance to see the performance of Kristīne Prauliņa & Friends – the young vocalist just last year released her debut album and now is presenting a completely new programme with fellow musicians. The performance will be followed by the whimsical seven girl world-music ensemble “Sus Dungo”, represented by Diāna Čepurnaja (vocal, acoustic guitar, banjo), Marta Trofimova (electric guitar, ukulele, vocal), Anneli Arro (drums, percussions, vocal), Elizabete Balčus (flute, vocal), Liene Dravniece (accordion) and Marika Arro (bass, vocal). The world-music project “DAGAMBA” includes cello players Valters Pūce and Antons Trocjuks, Dainis Tenis on keys and from Iran - Hamidreza Rahbaralam (daf, setar, voice). The day’s programme will be concluded by experimental band “Catalyst” – the core of the band is represented by Kārlis Boreiša-Visockis (guitar) and Ronalds Briežkalns (drums).
 
Tickets to Rigas Ritmi Festivals 2015 Showcase at the New Auditorium of the Riga Congress Hall are available at all “Biļešu Serviss” box offices and on line – www.bilesuserviss.lv. Ticket prices are EUR 10. Each day, 4 bands will be presented.
