With two concerts in Riga - Charlie Hunter and Lucy Woodward

With a career spanning 16 years and almost 20 albums, Charlie Hunter consistently ups his game as an innovative writer and bandleader. He has worked with the likes of Norah Jones , Mos Def, John Mayer, D’Angelo and countless others. He is widely considered the authority on the seven and eight - string guitar, and continues to stun audiences with his ability to simultaneously bust out tasty bass parts, melodic leads and swinging rhythms.

Lucy Woodward, in turn, is the owner of a strong voice who has performed alongside her fouralbumsolo career with music stars such as Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, Barbra Streisand, Chaka Khan, Carole King, Nikka Costa and Randy Jackson, as well as legendary fusion jazzband"Snarky Puppy"and easy listening styleglitters"Pink Martini".

In the spring of this year, Charlie and Lucy released their album "Music! Music! Music!", whose compositions will also form the basis of a fresh concert program. The album features radically revisitedpieces by various jazz, blues and R&B artists, from Blind Willie Johnson and Bessie Smith to Nina Simone and even Terence Trent D'Arby.

"Music!Music!Music!" makes the most of the interplay between Hunter’s funky guitar and Woodward’s powerful voice. The album reverberates with the thrilling intensity of the duo’s live shows, while crackling with the electricity that results when two talented performers stretch out together from their respective comfort zones, which results in a truly melodic enjoyment for the listeners.

On November 16 at 11:00, the artists will also give a master class at the Latvian Radio Studio 1. Entrance to the master class with a concert admission ticket. Pre-registration is required via workshop@rigasritmi.lv.

Concerts on November 15 and November 16 at 19.00 at the Latvian Radio Studio 1.
