Rīgas Ritmi Festival receives EFFE Label


Assessing the artistic program and organizational quality, as well as its importance in international music network, the European Festival Association has repeatedly awarded the Rīgas Ritmi Festival the prestigious quality mark EFFE Label.
 
EFFE or Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe is a Brussels-based program of the European Festivals Association, supported by the European Commission and the European Parliament. The award of the EFFE Label is evaluated by an international panel of experts evaluating the various quality standards of the festival. EFFE Label guarantees the festival's inclusion in the European festival network FestivalFinder.eu, which provides information to fans of good music and the media about events in 45 European countries.
 
Meanwhile, the traditions of the International Festival of Improvisation, Jazz and Global Music Rīgas Ritmi continue and its 21st release will take place from July 1 to 3, offering concerts by foreign stars and local artists. They are planned in the VEF Culture Palace, the Music House Daile, the Art Center Noass on the AB dam, and the Art Space M/Darbnīca at the the von Stricka villa quarter.
 
This year, the main stages of the festival will host the powerful global music supergroup Bokanté, Spanish saxophonist and singer Antonio Lizana playing in the new flamenco style, Lithuanian modern jazz master's Shinkarenko Jazz 4N together with singer Neda, Latvian pianist Kristaps Vanadziņš with his musical friends including the strong voice owner Ieva Kerēvica, and Riga Jazz Allstars featuring pianist Viktors Ritovs and rising singer Saija Paula.
 
Jersika Stage will operate on the AB dam at the Noass Art Center, where publicly available showcases of Latvian artists will take place, which will also be presented to music industry professionals from abroad. In the von Strick villa quarter, in cooperation with the Art Space M/Darbnīca, both a special program and the official jam sessions of Rīgas Ritmi 2021 are planned.
 
There will also be master classes led by the main stars of the festival, which will be announced.
 
Organizers of Rīgas Ritmi 2021 Contemporary Music Center expresses gratitude to the festival supporters: Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, Riga City Council, Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, State Culture Capital Foundation, Tele 2, US Embassy, Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, Embassy of the Italian Republic, Turkish Airlines and Forum Auto.
