"Rigas Ritmi 2013" - 1st day.

July in Riga has started with the concerts of festival „Rigas Ritmi”. On 3rd of July in the center of Riga the Opening of the festival „Rigas Ritmi” has successfully been held.

First day of festival started with the workshop by virtuoso guitarist Ori Dakari at the Latvian Radio 1st Studio. A lot of people gathered there to interact with artist, to demonstrate their skills and to ask questions. Ori Dakari improvised with attendants and was opened for every question. Young jazz vocalist, grand prix winner of contest „Riga Jazz Stage 2013” – Laura Budreckyte – joined the workshop to sing while Ori played piano and attendant of the workshop – played guitar.

In the evening jazz lovers was delighted by the first concert of the festival „Rigas Ritmi 2013”. This year the festival was resounded by young and talented generation of jazz vocal – Elīna Viļuma (Latvia), Daniel Cacija (Croatia), Evilena Protektore (Latvia), Laura Budreckyte (Lithuania) and wonderful Latvian jazz team Riga Jazz Quartet – Viktors Ritovs, Artis Orubs, Toms Rudzinskis and Edvīns Ozols. Virtuoso guitarist Ori Dakari joined this team to improvise and perform lyrical songs.

First day has passed, resounding the capital city with wonderful jazz music. Tomorrow there will be even more events to attend – great concerts by Robert Glasper and Somi at the Riga Congress Center, open air concerts in „Egle” and Kalnciema Quarter and night cruise on the boat „Misisipi”.
