On April 26, at 11:00 at Riga Congress Center a workshop by virtuoso drummer Jojo Mayer will take place
Jojo Mayer has gained wide recognition through his creative musical and communication style. Workshops by the name of drum clinic bring together hundreds of attendants and young musicians all over the world. For the workshop in Riga a dozens of young drummers and enthusiasts from Latvia and other countries have applied.
Especially for the upcoming workshop and concert with Latvian Radio big band a brand new “Sonor” drum kit is transported from Germany.
On April 26, at 19:00 at Riga Congress Center a two piece concert will be held. First part – awarding ceremony of contest “Riga Jazz Stage 2013”; second part – Latvian Radio big band and Jojo Mayer joint concert program dedicated to jazz legend Buddy Rich. This unique program is a tribute to jazz artist Buddy Rich on his 25th anniversary since he passed away. Also a very special composition by young jazz vocalists together with Jojo Mayer and Latvian Radio big band will be performed.
